ROD RUSHTON
Rod Rushton has over 30 years’ experience in the electrical and building services industry, progressing from apprentice to senior leadership roles including General Manager of a leading Perth electrical contractor and Electrical Asset Specialist for Woolworths across Australia and New Zealand.
With experience spanning construction, corporate maintenance, and large-scale asset management, Rod has led teams, managed complex portfolios, and delivered operational improvements across both contractor and client environments.
Having worked on both sides of the industry, Rod identified a major gap in electrical compliance—reliance on outdated, manual systems with limited digital solutions.
This insight led to the creation of Know Your Asset, a purpose-built platform developed over four years to modernise compliance, improve efficiency, and reduce risk exposure across large asset portfolios.
GARTH GILMOUR
Garth Gilmour began his career in the Royal Australian Navy before co-founding one of Perth’s most reputable electrical firms in 2004. Under his leadership, the business grew into one of Perth’s most respected electrical contractors, servicing government, education, law enforcement, and community housing sectors.
The company now manages over 500 sites and more than 300,000 electrical assets, reflecting its scale and long-standing client relationships.
Through this experience, Garth encountered firsthand the inefficiencies of manual compliance systems, including the storage and management of extensive physical logbooks and ongoing administrative burden.
Recognising the need for a better solution, Garth played a key role in validating and refining Know Your Asset, providing a large-scale real-world test environment to ensure the platform met industry needs.
